After a week of back and forth speculation, it’s official.  Mary J Blige will not be a part of Howard University’s Class of 2014.

Mary J. Blige made headlines over the weekend with her announcement that she had received an honorary NYC high school diploma and was to attend Howard University in the fall, making her a member of the class of 2014.

Mary’s performance was the highlight of the Essence Music Festival last weekend.

Mary J Bligeadded two more accomplishments to her impressive resume: She received her high school diploma, and she unveiled her new fragrance, My Life, at this weekend’s Essence Music Festival.

Mary J Blige appeared on Good Morning America today as part of their summer concert series. The singer revealed that she received an honorary degree from Howard University.
