During the most recent episode of ‘Red Table Talk’, Willow Smith revealed to her mother, Jada Pinkett Smith that she had began cutting herself at the age of 9.
The 17 year old singer explained that she went through a confusing period after her single ‘Whip My Hair’ was released and that her struggle with her identity and her purpose drove her to cutting. “I was listening to a lot of dark music and it was just so crazy and I was, like, cutting myself and doing crazy things,” Willow said.
Jada was caught off guard, as this seemed like her first time hearing about her daughter’s past. “There’s still a little something there,” she said, revealing scars on her arms and wrists. “Totally lost my sanity for a moment there.”
