5 Charged in Atlantic City Shooting

Five people, including a 16-year-old boy, have been charged after what New Jersey State Police called a “rolling shootout” on the Atlantic City Expressway yesterday that ended with one person dead and four others wounded.

The incident unfolded when shots were fired among moving vehicles on the eastbound expressway near the Garden State Parkway at about 3 p.m. yesterday.

Troopers found a slain man in the passenger seat of a car. Police also located four wounded men in a bullet-riddled Ford Expedition in the parking lot of a nearby Wawa in Egg Harbor Township.

BODY PULLED FROM SCHUYLKILL RIVER

A body was pulled from the Schuylkill River in the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia on this morning.

The discovery was made near the 1300 block of Schuylkill Avenue.

The body is a man who appeared to be in his mid-to-late 20’s, police say.

There were no visible signs of trauma to the man. It’s believe the body was in the water for about three days, police say.

 

Christie Vetoes $15 Minimum Wage

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has vetoed legislation that would have increased New Jersey’s minimum wage to $15 an hour in the next five years, calling the proposal a “radical increase” that would hurt businesses and consumers.

The minimum wage is currently $8.38 an hour.
