Today, thousands attended the funeral of 25-year-old Freddie Gray. By now I’m sure we all know about the young black man who died after suffering serious spinal injuries while in the custody of Baltimore police. We continue to keep the family in our prayers, and hope for answers sometime soon!
Unfortunately, this tragic story seem like its just beginning to unfold more and more. Turns out during the funeral earlier this morning Baltimore police say three separate gangs are now working together to “take out” law enforcement officers.
Authorities are calling these alleged threats a “credible threat” and said members of the Black Guerilla Family, the Bloods and the Crips have formed an alliance against the police.
The department warned other law enforcement agencies to “take appropriate precautions.”
When will this senseless violence stop people!? I know we may feel angry and helpless, but killing cops is definitely not the answer! Instead of turning to violence for the answers this should be a time where we should come together as a people and fight for equality and justice. Change won’t stem from violence against violence.
