(NewsCore) – Fast-food giant Burger King said Tuesday it will begin testing home delivery services at some Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., locations.
Deliveries will come with a surcharge of $2, and customers must make a minimum order of $8 to $10, depending on the market, the company said. Customers will be able to place orders online or by phone.
Food will arrive in thermal bags to keep burgers and fries “hot and fresh,” Burger King said in a statement. The company said it will make the service available at 16 Washington, D.C.-area restaurants by Jan. 23 but said there are not yet any “specific ” plans to roll it out nationally.
Although Burger King home delivery is new to the US, the restaurant chain already offers the service in Mexico, Turkey, Brazil, Colombia and Peru.
