The Holy Grail of reliably judging penis size from looking at a man’s hand may have finally been discovered. Research conducted by a team of Korean urologists indicates that the ratio between index finger and ring finger length is a reliable indicator of penis length. A lower ratio generally indicates longer length.

The results are based on study of 144 patients undergoing urological procedures, first by measuring the lengths of index and ring fingers, then measurement of their penis while under anesthesia for surgery. To approximate the size of an erect organ, the researchers stretched the penises “as much as possible.”

Other studies showed that this digit ratio is dependent on prenatal hormonal factors, thus possibly explaining the correlation with penis size. In most men, the index tends to be shorter than the ring finger, while they are mostly equal in women. A longer index finger may also predict less chance of prostate cancer.
