PHILLY TAXI COMPANIES TEAM UP In an effort to fight losses caused by ride-hailing services Uber & Lyft, 3 Philly taxi companies are teaming up. 1,100 cabs will all be under the 215-GET-A-CAB name and app. Part of the unified strategy includes a revamped smartphone app, upgraded technology in cars & updated fleet interiors.

FACEBOOK TO TO HELP PREVENT SUICIDES Facebook is turning to artificial intelligence to detect if someone might be contemplating suicide. The service will scan posts and live video with a technique called “pattern recognition.” For example, comments from friends such as “are you OK?” can indicate suicidal thoughts.

HONDA RECALLS ODYSSEY MINIVANS Honda is recalling about 900,000 of its Odyssey minivans because the second-row seats may tip forward if not properly latched. The recall covers vehicles from the 2011-17 model years. Honda says it has received 46 reports of minor injuries related to the issue.
