Starting next Monday, only delivery trucks can park in the morning on some Center City Streets.

Only delivery vehicles can stop along Walnut and Chestnut Streets from 6 to 10 a.m. After that, only regular vehicles can park on those streets while delivery trucks must park in designated spots on nearby numbered streets.

The goal was to try to reduce double parking of trucks, which clog these key arteries during the day, according to parking officials.

The Philadelphia Parking Authority will start giving out warning notices this week, they said. Next week illegally stopped vehicles will get a $76 fine — vehicles in violation will be towed starting the following week.
