If you’re a spotify user, R.Kelly can now be added to your playlists again. Spotify decided to end their policy to stop promoting artists like R.Kelly who have been accused of “hateful conduct.”

Spotify plans to stay committed to removing hate content such as music meant to incite hatred or violence.

“While we believe our intentions were good, the language was too vague, we created confusion and concern, and didn’t spend enough time getting input from our own team and key partners before sharing new guidelines,” Spotify said in a statement.

Many artists and executives spoke on the expressed concern over Spotify singling out artist for penalties. Spotify knew they were wrong anc corrected things in a statement.

“Across all genres, our role is not to regulate artists. Therefore, we are moving away from implementing a policy around artist conduct,” the statement read, adding, “We don’t aim to play judge and jury.”
