On January 7th, 2018, the Golden Globes will be honoring Oprah Winfrey with the Cecil B. DeMillie Award.
This award is given to a person who has made a monumental impact on the entertainment world. Morgan Freeman, Meryl Streep, Jodie Foster, Barbra Streisand, Sidney Poitier and Lucille Ball are some of the big names that won this award in the past. Past Participant himself, Morgan Freeman, announced the honoring of Oprah during the broadcast of the “Golden Globe 75th Anniversary Special,” on behalf of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
HFPA President Meher Tatna called Oprah “one of the most respected and admired figures today” and “one of the most influential women of our time” in a recent statement.
