Sunday, May 14 – HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all the Mom’s, Mentors and Role Models!

Hosts, Senator Vincent Hughes and Tiffanie Stanard kicked off Philly Speaks discussing an upcoming job fair with guest, Senator Street.

Temple University’s 11th Annual Neighborhood Job Fair! Taking place Thursday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Temple’s Student Pavilion on 1913 N 15th street, Philadelphia, PA, there will be over 120 employers on-site ready to hire!

Then we had the pleasure of interviewing Christian Dennis, CoFounder of Quaker City Coffee Company. Great to have him in the studio to tell his story and the mission and vision of the company.

Quaker City Coffee is a profit-sharing company, focused on job creation for formerly incarcerated individuals, also known as returning citizens.

Then we closed out the show, interviewing District Attorney (DA) Candidates in prep for Election Day on Tuesday May 16. For the past few weeks, Philly Speaks listeners had the opportunity to learn about the importance of the DA race, background on the candidates and the always important topic of VOTING!
