Shawn Stockman, of the group Boyz II Men, is back on the music scene; and he’s using his voice & star power to touch on the injustices in our communities.

A few days ago Shawn released a heartfelt rendition of the National Anthem and included the now infamous 3rd verse which was widely unknown by the American majority until the recent protests.

For his upcoming project, Shawn releases a West Indian driven single titled “Let Things Go” which to the listener, can respectfully be seen as this generation’s version of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On”; the iconic track released in 1971, which famously shocked the American public by bringing the Nation’s state of police brutality to the forefront. Unfortunately it seems not much has changed since then.

Shawn says “Let Things Go” is a reflection of what we are seeing in almost every American city, citing that we must begin to work together to change laws, policing policies, and crime within our communities in order to move forward.

As Shawn continues to develop his new sound, he reconnects to his Philly roots; linking up with producers Yountie and Yameen Allworld from illaBoro Collective, Cos Waller, Carlos Izaguirre and Pedro Martinez.
