Colored Condoms

A group of 13 and 14-year-old students just developed a “smart” condom that glows in different colors if it detects a sexually transmitted infection. And yes, yes I did say 13 and 14 year olds.

The young London creators Muaz Nawaz, Daanyaal Ali, and Chirag Shah, wanted to “make detecting  STI’s safer and without invasive testing”

The condom uses a built-in indicator that changes to a different color depending on the bacteria or infection it detects. The students said it may glow green for chlamydia, yellow for herpes, purple for human papilloma virus, or blue for syphilis.

I for one think this is very cool and mature of these young men. Changing the world one condom at a time!
