Life is busy. Life is so so busy sometimes that we do not make time to get enough exercise to achieve or maintain a healthy body weight. I get it, I really do. If you work multiple jobs, have children, pursuing a degree or certificate it’s very difficult to schedule time at the gym. Here’s the truth, it’s as important to exercise daily as it is to consume food and liquids daily. So, if you have an office job or a job where you are not moving around much then try the following moves to get your blood flowing:

  1. Stairway To Heaven– If you work in a building with more than one floor then you have a free gym at your disposal. Every 45 minutes get up from your desk and walk up and down the stairs for 5 minutes. If you don’t have many stairs at your disposal then just take a walk around the office or block for 5 minutes. By the end of a 8 hour work day you would have worked out for 40 minutes!

  2. The Fit Desk– If you work in a more progressive office environment, try to convince your company to invest in a treadmill desk or fit desk. Here is a great way to work and move simultaneously. Talk about killing two birds with one stone.

  3. Sit Still Okay, this suggestion may have people looking at you sideways but hey, it’s a great exercise for a sedentary work lifestyle. Lean your back up against a wall then slide down into a sitting position. You will not be able to rest your hind parts on a chair but you will give your thighs a nice workout. If you are really good at this one you can sit your laptop on your lap and keep working.
