the hype set up The Hype TV Show, a talk show for, by and about young women, will tape three new episodes on Saturday October 11th at 12 noon. We are looking for opinionated teens and adults to be in the audience! Any high school student who stays for all three tapings will receive 4 hours of community service credit for their participation in the on camera discussions. The three episodes will focus on “What’s In Our Food Parts I, II and III. We will talk about what we eat, why we eat it and how it affects your appearance and attitude. The show will reveal some surprising info about the ingredients in our favorite snack and why sugar has the same effect on our brains as cocaine. The Hype is a 30 minute healthy lifestyles TV and internet talk show for young women between the ages of 14 and 25. The show focuses on subjects that inform, support and encourage the self-esteem, self-awareness and self-expression needed for success and leadership. As stated in our slogan, The Hype is “TV for, by and about young women”. The hosts and guests on The Hype TV show, as well as bloggers on our website, are young, predominantly African-American, women from Philadelphia, who serve as role models through their thoughtful, articulate conversations, poise and professionalism. Our show can be seen on Philly CAM, Philadelphia’s public access channel on Comcast channel 66 & FIOS 29/30 and on YouTube (on The Hype TV Show channel). Our TV show and blog site cover topics in the following categories: Health & Wellness, Lifestyles & Relationships, Fashion & Beauty, Current Events and a self-help segment called “Fix Your Own Life.”  Our website articles and TV show feature topics that challenge our readers/viewers to learn more about the world by learning more about themselves, to lead by example, to develop an opinion and a world view and to express themselves through the written and spoken word. We also have internship opportunities for high school and college aged students
