According to 6abc.com, 37 year old Donovan Garvin was a math teacher at Smyrna High School. He & a 15 year old female student began having an “intimate relationship” toward the end of her 9th grade year, during which he was her teacher. Their encounters allegedly took place between May 1, 2012 & December 31, 2012 in his classroom & in the parking lot of an undisclosed residence. He is charged with ten 1st degree counts of sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust & 1 count of sexual solicitation of a child under the age of 18 to engage in a prohibited act.
