Auto Correct Gone wrong : Gunna to Gunman

According to the Gainesville Times two Georgia Schools were locked down Wednesday after the police received what they thought to be a tip from a community member. A unnamed concerned citizen received a text message stating “Gunman be at west hall today.” Startled by this, the text message was turned over to police, which ultimately led to the 2hour shut down of adjacent Georgia West hall middle and high schools.

The warning was eventually investigated to merely be a mistaken text gone wrong. The police eventually tracked the text message to a student which wrote a message to the wrong number. This mistake inevitably made a simple “gunna be at westhall today” message into a chaotic evacuation which is now making national news!

Moral of the story: Auto correct is a GREAT tool, it corrects your wrong spellings and can sometimes even finish your sentences like a ‘soul mate’ but when it goes wrong BIG misunderstandings can happen! Double check my friends!
