Protestors of Occupy Philadelphia have taken over City Hall today to protest the destruction of the middle class and the disparaging numbers between the rich and poor in America and around the world. Motivated by the NY movement Occupy Wall Street, the Philadelphia protestors look to bring some attention to an unheard voice of youngster who demand change in a broken economy that has produced an unemployment rate of 8.2% in the state of Pennsylvania and 9.1% Nationwide.
Occupy Philadelphia kicked off at 9am Thursday morning and doesn’t have an end time or date in sight. Check out tweets and pictures from the protest as the weekend progresses.
