The legendary R&B singer Mary J. Blige has signed on to play the iconic Nina Simone in an upcoming biopic.
Sources claim that the film focuses on Simone’s relationship later in life with her assistant. The script is written by Cynthis Mort, who also penned The Brave One.
It will reportedly cost $10 million and shoulkd begin shooting in France this September.
