The bond between a father and daughter is something cherished and special. Over the years, there have been female celebrities who are open about their relationship with their fathers. With Jay-Z becoming a father to Blue Ivy Carter, here are some celebrity “Daddy’s girls” unashamed of their closeness with their fathers and how they’ve influenced their careers.

Mathew Knowles & Beyoncé and Solange

Giving up his career in corporate America early on, Mathew Knowles dedicated his time to developing Beyoncé’s budding career. In later years, he went on to manage both careers of his daughters. Beyoncé even gave tribute to her father on her debut album, Dangerously In Love, with the sincere ballad entitled, “Daddy”. Since last year, accusations of alleged mismanagement of funds and a child with his mistress, resulted in Beyoncé letting her father go as her longtime manager. Recently, Mathew and his daughters have reunited over the birth of Beyoncé’s first child, Blue Ivy Carter.

Joe Germanotta & Lady Gaga

Stefani Germanotta a.k.a Lady Gaga is one of the biggest music acts of the 21st century. In just several years, she became an international pop star with her outrageous outfits and catchy songs. Her father, Joe Germanotta, may not be as famous as the other fathers, but certainly has a lot to do with his daughter’s success. Germanotto gave his daughter permission to drop out of New York University and allowed her one year to get signed while he covered her expenses. Since her success, she shares a whopping 50% of her earnings with her father and still stays with her parents when she’s not being a rockstar.

Will Smith & Willow Smith

It’s no secret entertainer Will Smith loves all of his children but has a special spot for his daughter, Willow Smith. The 11-year old singer and actress has a budding future thanks to her celebrity parents, especially her superstar father. Will Smith told People back in 2007, “She has drive. She has energy and she just wants to connect to human emotion.” She was only 7 at the time and was already Daddy’s little superstar.

Quincy Jones & Rashida Jones

Rashida Jones, daughter of music royalty Quincy Jones, has definitely shown herself to be a Daddy’s girl from a young age.. As a teenager, the actress famously wrote an open letter to rapper Tupac who made negative comments about her father and his biracial marriage. It was published by hip hop magazine, The Source, and oddly enough her older sister Kidada went on to date Tupac until his death. Rashida talked about her father to CNBC saying, “He’s so compassionate and he forces me to love myself even more.”

Lenny Kravitz & Zoë Kravitz

Rocker Lenny Kravitz married a Cosby alum and had his first and only child, daughter Zoë Kravitz. Zoë not only followed in her famous mother’s footsteps, but also in her father’s with music. Zoë speaks candidly about the love she has for her parents and how close she is to them. She even confesses that she borrows clothes from her mom and even her dad. “My dad has totally taken my Cat Stevens T-shirt, but It’s OK I have his Black Flag one and that’s amazing.”
