Philadelphia’s own Kur is set to perform in his hometown at Roots Picnic 2025.
Born and raised in Uptown, Mount Airy, Kur is known for his raw and authentic lyricism. Growing up in the tough neighborhoods of North Philadelphia, Kur turned to music as an outlet to express himself and share his story.
Kur did not shy away from discussing topics like poverty, violence, and struggle in his music. Instead, he used his experiences to bring awareness to those living like him, inspire and uplift others who may be going through similar situations.
Kur gained recognition through his mixtapes such as “Born Broke Die Rich” and “How It Never Was”, which caught the attention of fellow Philly rapper Meek Mill. Kur signed to Meek’s Dreamchasers label in 2016 and has been making waves ever since.

His latest single Peach Snapple, has the world doing their jigg as they head to the beverage section for Kur suggested Snapple flavor.
Kur will be performing during day 1 of the festival (May 31), hopefully performing some of the hood favorites that catapulted him to stardom.
