LisaRaye’ a Ratings Winner for TV One

*The back-to-back episode launch of TV One’s new reality series ” LisaRaye: The Real McCoy” set an audience record for the network with nearly 1.6 million viewers.

The program, which follows the life of actress and former First Lady of the Turks and Caicos LisaRaye, debuted on April 8 to a 1.0 household rating and 514,000 viewers, a network record for an original series. [Scroll down to watch clips.]

The second episode averaged a 1.2 household rating and drew 608,000 households.

Among African-American households, the 9:30 p.m. episode posted a 7.8 rating, and the 9 p.m. premiere telecast posted a 6.3 rating. Overall, 1.6 million total viewers watched the former “All of Us” star in the premiere shows as well as two repeat telecasts, the network stated.

“We felt from the beginning that LisaRaye’s amazing life story, coupled with her unusual candor, style, beauty and determination, was something that would resonate with our audience, and we’re delighted that we were proved right,” said Toni Judkins, TV One senior vice president of original programming, in a statement. “The good news is, our viewers have a lot more of LisaRaye to look forward to, and we’re confident that she — and the show — will continue to deliver for them.”
