Former Jodeci singer, writer and producer, DeVante Swing, was arrested at a Subway in Burbank, CA this past weekend for drunken behavior.
According to TMZ, DeVante, whose real name is Donald DeGrate Jr., let his hunger get the best of him after police received a call around 5PM saying the singer was drunk and sloppily crashing into tables and falling on the floor at the restaurant. Devante, 41, was arrested for being drunk in public and taken to a jail nearby.
He was released around 11PM, after police determined he had sobered up. The police said the singer would not be charged with a crime.
Who can forget Jodeci in their prime? Along with K-Ci, JoJo, and Mr. Dalvin, they were the hottest R&B band of the early-to-late ’90s. Then K-Ci and JoJo went solo and everything seemed to go downhill after that. Cedric ‘K-Ci’ Hailey and Joel ‘Jo-Jo’ Hailey are currently the subject of the reality show “K-Ci & JoJo … Come Clean,’ where they both battle drinking addictions and getting to know their kids. Maybe Devante can join the cast next season.
