MyVerse is a bilingual recording artist, songwriter, poet, and battle rapper from Orlando, Florida, of Puerto Rican and Panamanian descent. As a fully independent artist, she writes, produces, markets, and distributes her own music, and directs and edits her own videos. She is also the creative director of her own fashion brand, further expanding her artistic vision beyond music.
She was the first Latina rapper to appear on MTV’s Wild ‘N Out and won an MTV Video Music Award as part of Mag 7, a group formed by Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas. Her work spans film (Vincent N Roxxy), TED Talks, and CNN, where she discussed hip-hop’s role in social change. She voiced an animated character for Kraft Singles and was featured in an award-winning Church’s Chicken commercial. In 2022, she became the first female emcee to host the Red Bull BC One World Finals and returned to host again in 2023.
MyVerse is the first female battle rapper to retain ownership of her battle and release it independently through her website. She continues to lead poetry workshops and champions artistic independence, culture, and community through her work.
