She may have left us in August but the Queen of Soul is still getting lots of R-E-S-P-E-C-T. This time by the Pulitzer board.
On Monday, Aretha Franklin became the first individual woman to win a Pulitzer Prize Special Citation.
According to the board, Franklin was posthumously awarded ‘for her indelible contribution to American music and culture for more than five decades,’ reports Associated Press.
