Congresswoman Maxine Waters was awarded the Chairman’s Award at the 50th NAACP Image Awards Saturday night.
During her acceptance speech she let it be known that she is not afraid of the haters who threaten to kill her, her family or her staff.
She also said, tonight I stand before you as the first woman and the first African American to chair the powerful U.S. House Financial Services Committee. It is an honor to hold the gavel and I’m not afraid to use it.
