In a move that’s shocked the world of sports, the New York Giants on Tuesday traded Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.

The move comes less than seven months after the Giants signed the wide receiver to a five-year, $95 million contract extension that included an extra $65 million in guarantees. It also follows a number of incidents in which Giants management said they were keeping Beckham aboard for the long haul. Just last month, general manager Dave Gettleman told reporters, “We didn’t sign Odell to trade him. That’s all I need to say about that.”

In exchange for high-profile player, the Browns are reportedly handing over safety Jabril Peppers and their first- and third-round picks in this year’s draft.
