Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral had a better than expected weekend at the box office. It was expected to do around $17M-21M and instead did $27M It came in 2nd to How To Train Your Dragon 3. That movie brought in $30M. Here is the kicker-How To Train Your Dragon was shown in 4,286 theaters while Madea was shown in 2,442 theaters! Madea Goes To Jail holds the distinction for biggest opening weekend with $41M. It ended up making $90M.
