We are well aware that Jennifer Hudson can sing SING, and it only makes me more excited for the “Aretha Franklin Biopic” that is underway.
On Wednesday, Hudson stopped by the Ellen Degeneres show to talk about why playing Aretha Franklin is so important to her.
“It’s always been my dream to play Aretha, and it’s actually happening,” Hudson told DeGeneres. “It blows my mind. I’ve always looked up to Aretha, and to portray her — I can’t even speak about it, because it’s like, ‘Oh, that’s a huge task.’”
The biopic is still in early production, but Hudson landed the role in January. We cannot wait to see what Jennifer will be showing us when the film actually hits screens!
