An announcement on Wednesday from The Metropolitan Museum of Art states that next year’s Met Gala theme will be a “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” with Rihanna, Donatella Versace and Amal Clooney as the host. This Catholic theme event will be taking place on April 30th and the “Heavenly Bodies” museum exhibit will be open to the pub from May 10th to October 8th 2018. The Versace brand will sponsor the museum exhibit.

With an interview with the New York Times, the exhibit curator Andre Bolton said, “This one perhaps more than any other. But the focus is on a shared hypothesis about what we call the Catholic imagination and the way it has engaged artists and designers and shaped their approach to creativity, as opposed to any kind of theology or sociology. Beauty has often been a bridge between believers and unbelievers.”

It will definitely be interesting to see how the celebrities will dress with the theme this year after following a “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons ” theme, which centered around a specific designer.
