In a recent interview with Vogue, multimedia empire Oprah Winfrey, spoke on a variety of topics such as career, weight and marriage.
When asked what she’s learned about society by remaining unmarried she says, “Live life on your own terms.”
She continues to explain that marriage has never been an issue with her partner, Stedman Graham. The two have been together for more than 30 years and are still going strong. Winfrey stated that marriage requires a different way of existing in the world and Graham said they wouldn’t be together if the two were married.
“His interpretation of what it means to be a husband and what it would mean for me to be a wife would have been pretty traditional, and I would not have been able to fit into that,” she admitted.
