As we approach the year anniversary of Prince’s death from an accidental opioid fentanyl overdose, April 21, 2016 at Paisley Park, according to authorities the investigation is still open and ongoing.  The mystery surrounding Prince’s use of pill lingers. Who supplied them, how long had he been using and more questions continue, but are definitely part of a criminal investigation. The Drug Enforcement Administration and federal prosecutors are still seeking answers.

In unsealed court documents revealed today, results from a search warrant issued the day he transitioned in the Chanhassen, Minnesota facility where Prince lived and recorded  discovered various prescription bottles with the name “Watson 853” and longtime friend and estate manager, Kirk Johnson. No charges have been issued, however his family, loved ones and many fans long for closure. For millions around the world, it is still difficult to come to terms with Prince’s death, since so many questions remain unanswered.
