Why We Love Her: Political and Social Activist, Philanthropist and Entrepreneur, Madam CJ Walker produced hair and beauty products for black women to add diversity to their look, while showing women that men aren’t the only ones who can make a fortune on supply and demand.   .

Stats: Born Sarah Breedlove in December 23, 1867 in Delta, Louisiana. Died in May 25, 1919 Irvington, New York

Ladies First: The first self made millionaire off of her beauty and hair products. Known for the creations of the Hot Comb and Perm Relaxer.

Impact: Madam CJ Walker not only inspired black women and proved that anyone can be self made, but she still inspires many hair care and beauty lines today. One in particular Sephora has a product line that’s dedicated to Madam CJ Walker.
