In February during Work with Karen its Black HER-Story Month where we are celebrating Black History month with #SheFacts of female trailblazers.

Why We Love Her: Jane Bolin was a brilliant women who sought for more than average. She put herself in a position to create changes as she did with segregationist policies and fought for the youth.

Stats: Born in Poughkeepsie, New York on April 11, 1908. Attend Wellesley college and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1928. Furthered education by becoming a  Yale law school graduate in 193.

Ladies First: The First African American Women to earn a  graduate from Yale Law school. Starting off as an attorney  she became the first African-American female judge in the United States serving on New York’s family court.

Impact: Jane Bolin story taught African American women to not settle for average always strive for better. She shows us as people we can put ourselves in positions to make changes for our communities and society for the betterment of our youth and people.
