Steve Harvey met with Donald Trump at Trump Towers last week, and as expected, many people went in on the star for meeting with the controversial President elect.

Rapper Chuck D recently came to the host’s defense, claiming that the African-American community needs someone like Steve to meet with Trump, to get some kind of inside information. He told TMZ that certain members of the black community need to sit face-to-face with any perceived adversary so they can find out what’s really going down with the new administration and let everyone else know.

However, the Public Enemy frontman is still not a supporter of Trump and is proud that so many performers declined his invitation to perform at the inauguration, but he added that everyone doesn’t have to protest. He told Hip Hop Dx“The whole world should meet up with him [Trump] to keep this dude from going solo psycho on the planet. I’m sure Steve Harvey is looking at him eye to eye and cheek to cheek, not on his knees. He’s stepping to him as a man, and expects him to be accountable and see what he’s doing for black folks. I wouldn’t step to him, but who’s to say Steve Harvey can’t?”

Steve joins the list of celebs like Kanye West and Ray Lewis who received major backlash for meeting with Trump. Do you agree with Chuck D?
