Jarrett Hill Discovers Melania Trump Plagiarism

It’s a moment that will go down as one of the biggest flubs in political history.

First Lady wannabe Melania Trump plagiarized Michelle Obama‘s speech in front of the entire Republican National Convention, and Jarrett Hill just happened to be sitting in Starbucks watching it all go down live.

Hill told the Los Angeles Times that as he watched he immediately recognized the words.

“Kind of like a song that you haven’t heard in a long time and you remember the lyrics as you hear them. Or a movie that you know the line to and you kind of respond to it,” he said.

After watching Donald Trump‘s wife speech a second time, he realized there were way too many similarities between the two for it to be serendipity, so he took the comparison to Twitter.

Hill’s tweet is believed to be the first to catch the plagiarism:

His investigative approach comes as no surprise, considering Hill is a reporter.

He was laid off from his ABC Action News job back in 2015.

“It was a gut-wrenching loss for sure,” he said. “I moved to Florida for the job and then got laid off eight months after.”

Who would’ve guessed that a year later networks would be knocking on his door after making this career-defining discovery.

Now the spotlight is on him, and hopefully the new attention will help him land a role he loves.

“I would love to get a great job from this, doing something that I love,” he said, “but I don’t think I’ve even processed all of what’s happening.”

Well, here’s one thing that’s for sure, he’s proved he pays attention to detail and knows how to break the internet.
