One high school student defended his goatee at the expense of the crowning moment of his educational career.
Andrew Jones was named Valedictorian of his Amite High School class in Lousiaina, but because he violated school policy by having facial hair, he was not allowed to walk the stage at graduation, WWLTV reports.
After earning a 4.0, the honor was well deserved, but some extra hair on his chin kept him from that special walk across the stage.
“It don’t make sense, every day of school I went with it, even more, I did shave,” said Jones, “I had like sides and everything, but I shaved that for graduation.”
His Aunt, equally enraged, asked, “What was the real issue that he couldn’t walk with his class?” asked Sabrina Davis, Jones’ aunt. “He was top of his class, you know, that moment was the most important moment of his life.”
The superintendent was unavailable to comment on why students are allowed to rock a bearded chin during the school year, but not on graduation.
Regardless of the clear f*ckery, Jones is headed to Saint Louis University with an academic scholarship and an athletic scholarship to the football team.
That hair won’t hold him back.
