In late February in the city of Baconton, Georgia, Dr. Teresa Mitchell opened Total Care Pharmacy, fulfilling one of her dreams with the hope of manifesting others down the line.
Mitchell, a native of Baconton’s Mitchell County, has worked in the pharmacy field for 20 years. Additionally, she taught a pharmacy technician program at Albany Technical College.
Total Care Pharmacy officially opened its doors on February 29, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mitchell credits her late father for inspiring her to open the business in Baconton.

Calling the opening of Total Care a “God move,” Mitchell says that her Dad said that Baconton, 17 miles south of Albany, would become a business hub one day.
Both Baconton and Albany boast predominately Black populations, although Albany is more populous. Mitchell is said to own the first Black-owned pharmacy between the two regions.
