Jill Scott better known as “Jilly from Philly” took home the 2015 Soul Train Lady of Soul Award and wins Best Female R&B Soul Artist. During the show, which aired last night, the North Philly native accepted the award for her art and several years of dedication to making good soulful R&B. During her acceptance speech, Jill Scott told the audience her intent was to make that feel good music, “music you could make a baby to”.
