It looks like the story of Sugar Hill Records will be told by Hollywood! According to sources, Warner Bros. have hired two Empire writers, Carlito Rodriquez and Malcolm Spellman, to write the script. It will focus on the life of Sylvia Robinson, the co-founder of Sugar Hill Records.

The time period will surround the release of the first rap singles.

In 1979, Sugar Hill Records released Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight,” the first to garner mainstream success.

Sugar Hill’s roster also included Grandmaster Flash And The Furious Five and the Treacherous Three, among others. This should be VERY interesting!
