The health pavilion will provide a variety of free health screenings, i.e. blood pressure check, BMI screenings, and diabetes testing. Healthcare professionals will be on-site to discuss and distribute information
on the importance of healthy living and the need to be proactive with their health. In addition, information regarding Medicaid and Medicare health plans options will be available. Plus, there will be face painting for the kids, and free chair massages for all.

Kevin Powell
Kevin Powell is one of the most acclaimed political, cultural, literary and hip-hop voices in America today. Kevin is a native of Jersey City, raised by a single mother in extreme poverty, but managed to study at Rutgers University in New Brunswick thanks to New Jersey’s Educational Opportunity Fund. Kevin has gone on to be the author of 11 books, including Barack Obama, Ronald Reagan, and the Ghost of Dr. King: Blogs and Essays. Among his upcoming books is his memoir of a very difficult childhood and youth, to be released in 2015 by Simon & Schuster. In 2016, he will publish a biography of Tupac Shakur, the late rapper and controversial American icon. Kevin’s writings have also appeared in CNN.com, Esquire, Ebony, The Huffington Post, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, ESPN.com and Vibe Magazine, where he worked for many years as a senior writer, interviewing such diverse public figures as Tupac Shakur and General Colin Powell.
Kevin routinely appears in interviews on television, radio, and in print and on the internet discussing major issues of our time. As an activist, he is the president and co-founder of BK Nation, a new national, progressive, multicultural organization focused on such issues as education, civic engagement, leadership training, health and wellness, social media, arts and culture, and job and small business creation. Kevin was also a Democratic candidate for Congress in Brooklyn, New York, his adopted hometown, in 2008 and 2010.

Roblé Ali has quickly become one of the most recognizable chefs and one of the very few young African-Americans in the culinary world with national notoriety. The dashing and charismatic chef has provided his services to some of today’s most notable individuals including President Obama, Leonardo DiCaprio, John Legend, Jack Nicholson, Michael Jackson and Vanessa Williams, to name a few. In addition to his catering company Roblé & Co., his new restaurant “Streets,” serves global street food in Brooklyn NY, He has recently signed on to be a regular contributor on ABC’s “The Chew.” Roblé is currently at work on multiple projects, which include his signature fragrance, “Clique by Roblé” (www.cliquebyroble.com), a book, apparel line (www.foodpornclothing.com) and philanthropic work focused on children (working with Harlem RBI, Project Sunshine & Brooklyn Community Services). On Thanksgiving each year he drives a food truck through all five boroughs of New York feeding approximately 5000 hungry people in need.
Growing up, Roblé was always fascinated with food and cooking. He showed talent in the kitchen at a young age after learning from his grandfather, Jesse Harris, who was a professional chef. At 15, Roblé returned to his hometown of Poughkeepsie and began working in his first professional kitchen and continued to develop as a chef throughout his high school years. Upon graduation, he enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY where he broadened his knowledge of food. On the search for greater opportunities, Roblé moved to Brooklyn and began cooking in top restaurants and catering establishments throughout NYC.

As a native of Philadelphia, Shawn Bullard is proud to be a 34-year-old owner of a successful real estate development company in the metropolitan area of the city for almost a decade. The successful businessman is a serial entrepreneur who owns several businesses in addition to his real estate development company, including a hair salon and restaurant in the city. He has been recognized by several notable organizations for his achievements as a real estate developer and investor. In 2009, the Fox School of Business announced Shawn as the winner of the distinguished “Be Your Own Boss” Bowl, making him the first African- American to win this honor.
