Some grace-dance-theaterpeople live their lives with such passion and purpose that they not only make their dreams come true they make it possible for others to live their dreams as well. Such is the case for Carol Cubbage Davis, a retired school teacher, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority member and Temple University Alumni who lost her battle with breast cancer in February of this year. She had two goals in her life 1) to provide affordable dance classes to all youth and 2) to start her own dance company.  Ms. Davis accomplished both of those goals when she founded The Grace Dance Theater in 1991 and has spent the past 23 years cultivating and nurturing the positive development of young people in the Philadelphia area through the creative and performing arts. Ms. Davis worked tirelessly on her dream and now its survival is in jeopardy because of her passing. Her family, company and students have all band together to keep her dream alive because they honor the importance of Ms. Davis’ work and its value in the community. Please check out the video below which shows the talented hardworking students who are determined to keep Ms. Davis’ dream alive. We celebrate and acknowledge legacy Ms. Carol Cubbage Davis.
