I don’t know what you have planned for February 3, 2014 but let me suggest you pull up a chair, turn on PBS and check out this documentary “American Promise.” This film follows the lives of two black boys from grade school to high school and uncovers their trials and triumphs as their parents are in pursue the American dream for their sons. “American Promise,” winner of a Special Jury Award at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, will premiere Monday, Feb. 3, at 10 p.m. on the POV (Point of View) documentary series on PBS.
