Each night I highlight a person or organization that I think you should get to know. Tonight I shine the light on award winning choreographer Jeffrey Page. Mr. Page is an adopted son to Philly, though he originally hails from Indiana. This well accomplished choreographer & performer just completed a new work for the Kule Mele African Dance and Drum Ensemble. His piece is a reaction to the Treyvon Martin murder and the social profiling comparison between “hoodies” and a kemar. The dance will be performed at the Kulu Mele show Let The Roots Show Saturday November 30 and Sunday December 1, 2013. For more info on the performance CLICK HERE. Listen to my 2minute interview with Jeffrey at 8:08pm tonight. If you missed it, check out examples of some of his work. I think you will recognize some of it! Kudos to you Jeffrey.
