I have never been a big fan of reality shows, in fact, I’ve had many negative things to say for quite some time now. I must admit that I was hooked on R&B Divas LA mainly because I saw a personally familiar face on the show. Fred Thomas Jr. is a buddy of mine from Temple University. Needless to say, when I saw Fred on TV I was excited, then my feathers were immediately ruffled when he was dismissed and challenged by one of the cast members. Fred handle the situation like a true professional, but I would expect nothing less from someone who is Temple Made (the latest slogan for the university). Fred served as the embattled director of the Divalogues, a theatrical production of personal monologues and songs by the R&B Divas (LA). Although he was challenged by some of the divas he is no novice or lightweight in theater and television. After earning his Masters in Film and Media Arts from Temple University Fred has appeared on The Parkers, was one of the Budweiser “What’s Up” guys and is a seven time 2012 NAACP nominee and winner of Best Director, Best Playwright and Best Producer for his play 12’ x 9’.

If you would like to check out the work Fred Thomas Jr. did on the Divalogues, TV One will air the  performance on Saturday October 5th at 10 pm. To quote a previous TU slogan, “Temple Owls are Everywhere.”- Tiffany Bacon
