Mayor Michael Nutter says he will borrow $50M in order to ensure that Philadelphia Public schools will open come September. Superintendent William Hite said he needed $50M by Friday to rehire employees to open the schools safely on September 9th.  Nutter’s announcement means schools will open on time and the School district will hire the employees it needs for a safe opening.
