With only two short  days left to hear the $50M verdict of the school closing, parents and staff of the Philadelphia School District took action today by staging a daylong hunger strike outside of the school district headquarters’. Concerned Philadelphians sat under tents demanding the school district  to rehire the 1,200 noon time aides that were laid off in July. Parents and staff argue they need the noontime aids in the schools, to continue to keep the children safe in the lunchrooms, hallways, and in the classrooms, as well as cleaning the lunchrooms.

Parents, students and staff of the Philadelphia School District still awaits the final decision whether the school district will be receiving their addiction $50M to be able to reopen schools by September 9th.
