If you know New York, you’re probably aware that the South Street Seaport is at the bottom tip of Manhattan’s island, a relatively quiet place best known for its big ships and cobblestone streets.

But very recently, things got a little berserk far, far downtown, when an elderly woman named “Grandma Tracy,” sporting an attached fannypack and gravity-defying ponytail, stopped for a dance break on the pier. She drew a crowd, including the attention of someone with a video recorder in hand, ready to show the world and YouTube that life begins at 60, especially when it involves breakdancing in public to the screams of the young and restless.

Summer in the city: there’s nothing like it.
