Chicago Bears cornerback Charles “Peanut” Tillman is already used to overcome tough challenges as an NFL football player. By participating in Allstate’s “Give It Up For Good” he hopes to encourage others to help their fellow man through their own challenges. The campaign rewards those who participate in community service by
“There’s a lot of bad going on in the world and the media highlight the bad and the negativity,” Tillman told the Tom Joyner Morning Show. “I’ve teamed up with Allstate for a program that talks about all the good going on in the community. You can go to their website and post a comment about something or someone good in the community. “
The campaign will be further highlighted at the Allstate Tom Joyner Family Reunion taking place in Orlando, Florida Labor Day Weekend from August 29 to September 2.
In 2008, his daughter Tiana was diagnosed with a dilated cardiomyopathy and in need of a heart transplant. She ultimately received a heart because another family was willing, through organ donation, to contribute to another child’s life despite their own loss.

“We lived in the hospital for three months and she had to receive a heart transplant. We already had a foundation and it was education based, but we felt we should switch over the mission statement of our foundation to make it more meaningful to us.”
The Charles Tillman Foundation now encourages others to participate in organ donation in order to continue saving lives.
To participate in the Give It Up For Good campaign you can go to the Allstate website and post your own story or the story of others who are active participants in the betterment of their communities.
