With over 50 restaurants raging from American Cuisine to Middle Eastern, there is a wide variety of options to appeal to the taste buds of all. The 12 day Center City District Restaurant Week set to start September 30-October 5 and continue October 7-12 offers food enthusiasts three course lunches for $20+ and three course dinners for $35+.
Below are a few of our favorite places to explore during restaurant week! Have fun “Dining N’ Style”.
American Cuisine:
Named by Philadelphia Magazine as the “Best tiny Romantic Restaurant”, Friday Saturday Sunday is a perfect spot to share an intimate dinner with the special one. Offering an assortment of foods including Euro Chicken, Broiled Filet of Salmon, and Filet Mignon in an artsy environment, couples are sure to enjoy a night on the town.
Asian Cuisine:
Taste buds yearning for authentic Asian cuisine? Chifa offers a collection of Chinese cuisine with a Peruvian and Cantonese influence. Appraised for their cuisine alone, the dim atmosphere further enhances the date night experience.
Continental Cuisine:
Known as “the boldest of Philadelphia’s restaurant lounges”, Vango is the perfect place for a lite dinner and a night of dancing to complete the evening.
European Cuisine:
Jamonera, located on South 13th Street, is cherished for their authentic signature dishes. During restaurant week, Jamonera will offer customers an opportunity to choose from dishes such as Buter Lettuce Salad, Roast Lancaster Chicken and Sticky Toffee Pudding just to name a few.
French Cuisine:
Sofitel is an example of what occurs when Philadelphia meets French inspired cuisine. The cozy cafe and delicate food allows for small talk to turn into hours of conversation.
Greek Cuisine:
The first of it’s kind in the city, Esita offers authentic Greek cuisine in the heart of Brotherly Love. Specializing in grilled fish, Estia will feature shrimp, scallops, swordfish and Mediterranean sea bass during restaurant week!
Indian Cuisine:
Offering 13 second course options for restaurant week, Palace at the Ben prides itself on offering a wide selection of Indian cuisine. Emphasizing a healthy alternative to eating, Palace at the Ben definitely lives up to its description, “Indulge yourself at the Palace at the Ben and we promise you Nirvana”!
Italian Cuisine:
Valanni is a hidden treasure to all who have taken part in the dinning-lounging experience. During restaurant week, Valanni will offer over 20 options for guest to select from. Topping your meal with a signature cocktail will further enhance the night.
Japanese Cuisine:
Fugi Mountain Japanese Restaurant
Fugi Mountain is one of a few restaurants that will offer five course options during restaurant week. A variety of sushi rolls are available for your tasting pleasure.
Latin Cuisine:
Trying to cut back on the amount of red meat intake? While famous for its steak cuts, Chima offers a selection of other meat choices. Chicken wrapped in bacon, salmon, swordfish and pork lion with parmesan cheese are only a few other alternatives Chima offers during welcome week.
Mediterranean Cuisine:
Offering main courses including Albondigas (spiced meatballs, piperade, poached egg) and Moules (Mussels, chorizo, sauce basquaise) just to name a few, Tinto is a eatery whose Mediterranea tradition lives on through various signature dishes.
Mexican Cuisine:
El Vez is a notable restaurant in the heart of Center City that offers a taste into Mexican cuisine. In addition to offering a collection of Mexican foods (Grilled Pibil Pork Chop and Red Snapper Veracruzana), El Vez has an in-restaurant photo booth that captures memories that last for a lifetime.
Middle Eastern Cuisine:
Fairly new to the city, Zahav is an Israeli restaurant that brings Israel’s tradition to Philadelphia. While Zahav’s signature dishes are highly desired, “the soul of Zahav lies in the laffa bread” according to website description. Back in May 2009, Zahav was named Philadelphia’s number one restaurant according to Philadelphia Magazine.
